What is precision slitting?
In metalworking, every new contract is a new custom challenge. The increased demand for steel coils with finer width and length parameters has ushered in an era of more powerful precision slitting - driven by technological advances in slitting equipment, software and tooling practices.
Slitting is a metal fabrication process in which a coil of material, such as aluminum or steel, is cut to the length and width specified for the final application.
As the material passes through the machine, steel rollers move through extremely sharp circular blades, making cuts. To make a slice, a considerable compressive force must be applied - when the pressure exceeds the tensile strength of the material, it slices. The final product is a long strip of material cut to the buyer‘s specifications.
Steel slitting machine consists of three main parts: uncoiler, slitter and re-winder. To ensure the quality of the optimization process, each element must be precisely aligned during setup.
KINGREAL ‘s extensive slitting capabilities are of great value.
Customers know that KINGREAL has highly configured equipment and can process their orders on time to the correct specifications. At the same time customers appreciate the high level of precision and quality we provide in the slitting process as it creates real value by eliminating the excess material waste that their own manufacturing process can create.
Our slitting line has the following advantages:
Shorten delivery time
reduce waste
reduce costs
Streamlined material flow
