The common flattening machine on the market can be roughly divided into three categories according to processing capacity: medium plate flattening, thin plate large flattening, precision small flattening, basically can meet the various processing requirements.

Medium plate flattening machine is specialized in processing hot-rolled coil equipment, the general processing capacity of 3mm to 14mm thick. early plate flattening machine can only open the maximum width of 1500mm hot-rolled coil, with the introduction of wide hot-rolled coil, in recent years, the processing center on the hot-rolled flattening machine can generally open 2000mm wide hot-rolled coil. Some of the hot-rolled flattening machines are also equipped with edge cutting function.

The thin plate large flattening machine can generally process 0.3mm ~ 3.0mm thickness of the cold rolled coil. In the early days, the thin plate flattening machine can generally only process cold rolled coils with a maximum width of 1300mm, but with the wide application of 1500mm cold rolled coils, the 1500mm width flattening machine soon dominated the market. The processing capability of cold rolled flattening machine is mainly reflected in leveling, surface protection, stamping and other aspects.

Precision small leveling generally refers to the processing of the maximum width of 800mm below the cold rolled coil of the leveling machine, processing thickness of 0.3 ~ 3.0mm. and thin plate big open machine, it is mainly processing high requirements of the cold rolled coil, especially for surface protection requirements, generally higher, its products are generally fixed open thin plate, widely used in stamping, precision cutting and so on.　Opening and leveling equipment is the most basic processing equipment for steel coils, so basically processing centers have, opening and leveling is very reflective of the performance of the equipment a processing, so the difference in equipment performance will lead to differences in processing quality, which is more reflected in the processing of high demand products.
